Lebanon country strategic plan (2023–2025)
This strategy is about the Lebanon country plan (2023-2025) of the World Food Program, which aims to address the multifaceted crisis in Lebanon and ensure the food and essential needs of the population are met.
The Plan (2023-2025) focuses on five key pillars to address crises and foster long-term stability: meeting basic needs, ensuring vulnerable populations, including refugees, have essential support during and after crises; building resilience through social safety nets, integrating the extremely poor, particularly children, into national safety nets; promoting resilient livelihoods, helping those affected by economic and climatic shocks achieve sustainable livelihoods; strengthening national institutions, enhancing their ability to manage social programs; and enhancing coordination and service delivery, improving the effectiveness of humanitarian aid.
The plan's objectives include meeting the essential needs of all community members, bolstering household and community resilience, supporting the government's capacity to respond to shocks, shifting the responsibility for aid to the government, and aiding in structural reforms for economic recovery and national social safety nets, all aligned with Lebanon's crisis response plans and the UN’s sustainable development goals for 2023-2025.
