Sectoral strategy for culture and heritage 2021-2023

The “Sectoral Strategy for Culture and Heritage” (2021 to 2023), aims to protect and enhance Palestinian cultural identity and preserve the country’s rich heritage. This strategy comes in the context of confronting the political, social, and economic challenges facing Palestine, and aspires to strengthen the cultural infrastructure and promote Palestinian heritage at the local and international levels.

Pillars & Objectives

Pillar: Protection of cultural heritage

Objectives:

Preserving archaeological and heritage sites.
Documenting tangible and intangible heritage.
Combating attacks on Palestinian heritage and protecting it from destruction.

Pillar: Strengthening cultural identity

Objectives:

Support traditional and contemporary arts.
Promoting the Arabic and Palestinian languages with their various dialects.
Promote understanding and pride in Palestinian culture in the local community.

Pillar: Capacity building and infrastructure development

Objectives:

Developing and supporting cultural institutions.
Providing vocational training in the fields of culture and heritage.
Improving access to cultural and educational resources.

Pillar: International promotion of Palestinian culture

Objectives:

Promoting international cultural exchange.
Promoting Palestinian cultural heritage in international forums.
Supporting initiatives that showcase Palestinian culture to the world.

Pillar: Economic empowerment through culture

Objectives:

Supporting cultural and creative industries.
Promoting cultural tourism.
Creating job opportunities in the cultural and artistic fields.
