Strategy for the Reduction of Poverty in Iraq 2018–2022

This Strategy aims to reduce poverty rates by 25 percent in Iraq by 2022 following a consultative and participatory process among stakeholder ministries. It clearly prioritizes improving accessibility of basic services to the poor, particularly the most vulnerable groups, including women and children, and providing sustainable social protection mechanisms, which will build the overall human capital. The Strategy also focuses on the needs of returnees and families of the internally displaced persons in the recently liberated areas.
